President Zelensky awarded the servicemen with state awards and battle flags on the day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, in particular Serhiy Bozhko and Andriy Drobilenko.
President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the servicemen on the day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, presented state awards, battle flags, ribbons of honorary distinction and awarded honorary names to military formations. The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of all the heroes who died for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. Vladimir Zelensky wished the military strength and victory and presented state awards.
In particular, the president handed over the Order of the Golden Star to the mother of the fallen hero of Ukraine, senior soldier Serhiy Bozhko, who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2018. In May 2022, Serhiy Bozhko covered and defended the Ukrainian Armed Forces ' positions in the Donetsk region, but he was fatally wounded.
The Order of the Golden Star was also awarded by the head of state to the wife of senior lieutenant Andriy Drobilenko, who was awarded the title hero of Ukraine posthumously. The fighter was fatally wounded in October 2022 in the Luhansk region.
The president also handed over the order to the wife of junior sergeant Vadim Lysenkov, the fallen hero of Ukraine. Last year, he participated in sabotage and reconnaissance operations, helped identify and destroy the enemy, seize weapons and prisoners.
Vladimir Zelensky awarded the Order Of The "Golden Star" to the hero of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Andrey Doktorenko, who has been performing combat missions in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions since July 2022.
The order was also awarded to a combat medic, junior sergeant Bogdan Magalyas, who is involved in repelling Russian aggression in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Vladimir Zelensky also presented the presidential insignia "Cross of Military Merit" to soldier Vasily Abramyuk, major Kirill Veres and pilot, Captain Anatoly Kurnosov.

In order to celebrate the high professionalism, Military Merit, courage and bravery of the personnel of military units, the president presented battle flags to the 63rd separate Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces Command of the armed forces of Ukraine, the 38th separate marine brigade of the command of the Naval Forces of the armed forces of Ukraine, the 14th anti-aircraft Missile Regiment of the Air Forces Command of the armed forces of Ukraine.
In addition, the 110th separate Mechanized Brigade named after Cornet General Mark Bezruchko of the Land Forces of the armed forces of Ukraine, the 164th Radio-Technical Brigade of the Air Forces of the armed forces of Ukraine and the 91st separate Akhtyrsky Regiment of support for the Land Forces of the armed forces of Ukraine received the award of the president of Ukraine "for courage and bravery".
The head of state also gave honorary titles. Thus, the 10th separate mountain Assault Brigade of the command of the Land Forces of the armed forces of Ukraine was awarded the honorary name "Edelweiss", the 145th separate repair and restoration Regiment of the command of the logistics forces of the armed forces of Ukraine-the honorary name "Nikolaev".
He was also awarded the military rank of brigadier general to Chief of staff, deputy commander of the Vostok Air Command of the AFU air forces Vadym Labunets, deputy commander of the Zapad Air Command of the AFU air forces Serhiy Ryabko, head of the Institute of aviation and air defense of the National Defense University of Ukraine Anatoliy Saliy, and others.
