Kyiv honored dog handlers and service dogs, including police captain Vitaliy Lytvyn and his dog Kate, for their role in security and defense.
In Kyiv, within the framework of the of the "Dogs are Heroes" project, a ceremony was held in Kyiv to award dog handlers with of the state authorities of the security and defense sector of Ukraine. In particular the team of Police Captain Vitaliy Lytvyn and his faithful shepherd dog, Kate.

As part of the project "Dogs-heroes" project, the author and leader of which is a member of the of the Samaritan Cynologists Union of Ukraine Tetiana Slavinska, a ceremony was held of awarding cynologists with service dogs of the public sector security and defense of Ukraine.
It is indicated that the dogs invited to the to the ceremony have repeatedly detained offenders, involved in the detection of explosive devices, protection of foreign delegations and rehabilitation of Ukrainian military.
Among the of the awardees are a well-known team of Kyiv police officers Police captain, deputy head of the dog training center of the Kyiv city police Vitalii Lytvyn, together with his faithful shepherd dog Kate. They have been working at the Kyiv railway station since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. They were also involved in in authorized searches and visits to respond to bomb threats.
In 2023, as a member of the as a member of the explosive units of the National Police of Ukraine, Captain Lytvyn together with his partner were in the Kherson region, where they took participated in the demining of the de-occupied territories.
