Slovak truckers threaten to block the Vysne Nemecke-Uzhhorod border crossing with Ukraine if the situation with permits for Ukrainian carriers is not resolved.

Union of Road Carriers The Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia has announced its readiness to block the border crossing with Ukraine, if the situation with the cancellation of permits for Ukrainian carriers is not resolved. It is about the checkpoint "Vysne Nemecke - Uzhhorod. Uzhhorod". This was reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the Union of of Road Carriers of Slovakia UNAS.

UNAS remains in a state of strike and in the absence of any other alternative to resolve the situation UNAS is ready to completely block the border crossing "Vysne Nemecke - Uzhhorod" in both directions . Uzhhorod" border crossing in both directions

The Union of Road Carriers thanked the Minister of Transport of Slovakia Josef Raj for raising the issue of of canceling permits for Ukrainian carriers and its impact on road transport in Slovakia at a meeting of the EU Transport Council in Brussels December 4.  On Thursday, December 7, representatives of UNAS representatives will meet with him on Thursday, December 7, to look for ways to resolve the situation.

As a reminder

On December 1, Slovak truckers began blocking truck traffic at the at the Vysne Nemecke-Uzhhorod border crossing point with Ukraine, allowing limited traffic. They joined Polish truck drivers.In the evening of December 4, the truckers' action ended. On December 5, the State Border Guard Service reported that traffic for trucks across the Slovak-Ukrainian border at the Vysne Nemecke-Uzhhorod" checkpoint had been unblocked.
