The NBU predicts that 200 thousand Ukrainians will move abroad next year
Kyiv • UNN
In 2024, 500,000 people will leave Ukraine, and in 2025 this figure will drop to 200,000. The NBU expects Ukrainians to start returning home in 2026.
Due to the significant outflow of Ukrainians abroad in 2024, this number will decrease to 200 thousand next year. This is stated in the NBU's Inflation Report, UNN reports.
Details
It is projected that in 2024, the net outflow of migrants will amount to about 500 thousand people. However, due to such a large outflow in 2024, the outflow is expected to decrease in 2025 to about 200 thousand.
It is expected that the net return of migrants to Ukraine will begin in 2026, but due to adaptation in a new place and the gradual normalization of economic conditions in Ukraine, the return will be somewhat lower than previously expected (about 200 thousand people)
Recall
As part of the work on the return of Ukrainians from abroad, the government will create targeted departments in other countries. They will start with Germany and Poland.
