The US Congress postponed its recess, extending its work until December 21 for a possible deal, with signs that Democrats, particularly Senator Schumer, may make concessions. President Biden also discussed bipartisan efforts on immigration reform.

The US Congress has been extended until December 21. They were supposed to go on vacation on December 15. This was reported by Oleksandra Ustinova, MP from the Voice faction, chairman of the temporary special commission of the Verkhovna Rada on monitoring the receipt and use of weapons provided to Ukraine by international partners, UNN reports.

Not all is lost. Today, senators were told that they would work until December 21, instead of December 15. The Congress was extended for another week. That means we have another week, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that they'll come to an agreement. It looks like the Democrats are ready to make concessions, given that Senator Murphy, who was the Democratic negotiator, has been suspended, and once again the Senate Democratic chairman, Senator Schumer, is leading the negotiations

- Ustinova wrote on Facebook.

She also wrote: "They say that Biden, after meeting with Zelensky, also said to make concessions."

US President Joe Biden saidthat the immigration system in the United States needs to be changed and his team is working with Democrats and Republicans in Congress to reach an acceptable compromise.

Earlier it was reportedthat Mike Johnson, the spokesman for the US House of Representatives from the Republican Party, threatened to withdraw support for new funding for Ukraine unless the White House agrees to strengthen border security.
