The President of Ukraine warned against proposals for a ceasefire without security guarantees for Ukraine. According to him, such a step could lead to a complete occupation of the country.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during today's summit of the European Political Community, some leaders told him about a ceasefire, but without any guarantees for Ukraine, which could mean a complete occupation of Ukraine in the future. Zelensky said this during a press conference following his participation in the summit of the European Political Community, UNN reports.

First of all, there are defense agreements. It is about strengthening our guys. There are issues before the winter to strengthen air defense. We discussed... I won't go into details now. There is a positive thing there. And I think the rhetoric that exists today is very dangerous. We understand which leaders are implementing and raising this rhetoric. As for the ceasefire... first, the ceasefire, and then we will see. This is a very terrible challenge for all our citizens. First a ceasefire, and then we'll see. Who are you? Are your children dying? Are they dying there? Are your homes being destroyed? What are you talking about? I had a good moment today, unfortunately, not everyone was present at that moment. We have had a ceasefire since 2014, when our Crimea and part of our Donbas were occupied, which ended in preparations for a full-scale invasion. This suggests that a ceasefire, when there are no further security guarantees for Ukraine, is a preparation for the continuation of the occupation of Ukraine and the destruction of our independence and sovereignty. This is what a ceasefire is

- Zelensky said.

He said that the ceasefire is a great chance for Russia to continue fighting.
