Radiohead vocalist Thom Yorke briefly left the stage during his solo tour of Australia after a conversation with an audience member who interrupted him to protest the deaths in the Gaza Strip.

In the footage taken by the audience, a man in the crowd was shouting at York. Although it was difficult to hear what he was saying, he said “Israeli genocide in Gaza.” York responded: “Come here and say it. Right here, come on. Get on stage and say what you mean. Don't stand there like a coward, come out here and say it.

Earlier, Thom Yorke criticized the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and supported Radiohead's decision to perform in Israel. Radiohead performed in Tel Aviv in 2017 despite BDS's call for a boycott of the country, which included public criticism from British film director Ken Loach.
In his statement to X at the time, responding directly to Loach, Yorke said: “Singing in a country is not the same as supporting a government. I've been playing in Israel for over 20 years, under different governments, some of them more liberal than others. It's the same as in America. We don't support Netanyahu any more than we support Trump, but we still sing in America.
