The head of the funeral service of one of the communal enterprises of Kyiv region demanded a bribe of $2000 for booking burial places in a cemetery owned by the community.
The defendant was detained during the transfer of the illegal benefit “in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine”.
Law enforcement officers conducted an urgent search of the utility company's premises and seized $2,000 in cash and a phone.
The 48-year-old resident of the capital was transferred to a temporary detention center and faces up to 10 years in prison.
