The introduction of a nationwide quarantine against the background of a large number of flu and COVID diseases is not yet planned, but local restrictive security measures are expected to be applied. This was announced by the Chief Sanitary doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin during an interview, reports UNN.

The Chief Sanitary doctor noted that the introduction of anti-epidemic restrictions at the regional level is provided when there is an excess of the epidemic level of the norm. In such cases, you can extend the winter holidays in schools or use masks in recommended places.
As of this week, exceeding the epidemic threshold for the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections was recorded only in the Chernivtsi region. "This means that at the level of the Chernivtsi region, if they see that this is a rather rapid increase in the number of patients, they initiate this decision to the commission on technogenic and environmental safety and decide on certain restrictive measures," Kuzin explained.
However, for example, in the Rivne region, winter holidays have already been extended, despite the fact that this is not necessary. This is a preventive measure to prevent approaching the epidemic threshold.
